THE ARTWORK:
A gentle river winds its way through lush green hills. In the distance, mountains stand tall, constant presence in a changing landscape.
The distant mountains evoke a sense of permanence and grounding. The meandering river symbolizes the flow of life, while the verdant hills the abundance of nature.

THE KOREAN WRITINGS:
"The Tao (moral way) does not distance itself from humans,
yet humans distance themselves from it.
The mountains do not leave the mundane world,
yet the mundane world leaves them."
The poem inspired by an original piece of the renowed Korean scholar Choe Chi-won and offers a commentary on humanity's tendency to stray from the natural world and the inherent morality it embodies.
Curiosity:
Busan's modern Haeundae District gets its name from Choe, who went by the pen-name Haeun. He fell in love with the spot and built a lookout pavilion there. You can even find a piece of his calligraphy etched into a rock to this day!
Bring the mountain's offer of guidance and the meaningful poem to your space with this print today.
